The tree exercise

In today's lesson we created an organic motif of movement which we developed from the mornings exercise of (trees.) We stood with our eyes closed and allowed others to control our movement with simple touch, this was developed through us getting into pairs and choreographing a short collection of movement for our devised piece movement "moments." I found this exercise very interesting as it allows you to move fluently through concentrating on our physicality. I think the work we developed will work well in our pice as it shows intricate movement whilst exploring the dynamics of the people on stage. We also explored the concept of slap stick comedy to explore the experience of drama without spoken word to help us. This exercise thought me that I need to over exaggerate my facial expression and physicality to get across a narrative and make it clear to an audience which is extremely important.

  1. Good. You could offer a little more detail in your description - if only a few details about the scene you created - and then evaluate the work and say if it will fit into the piece we are developing or not.
